Current mantras
Posted by admin on November 28th, 2009. Filed under: Uncategorized.- All you can expect of yourself is your best at any given moment.
- Sometimes, even though it hurts in the moment, it’s a gift when certain people aren’t part of your life any longer.
- There’s no prize for Having All Your Laundry Done or Cleanest House or Perfect Anything.
- You’re never too old to just want to hug your dad or sit on your mom’s lap.
- Living anyone else’s dreams or expectations is unnecessary.
- Yoga is necessary.
- It’s fine to not have it all figured out.
- You can always change your mind.
- Being productive can sometimes mean just relaxing, and producing a well-rested version of yourself.
- Cereal is a perfectly appropriate lunch.
- There’s no competition. No, really.
- Hot baths are magic.
- You’re good enough, just the way you are, even in jammies and bedhead.
What are your current mantras?

Tell people you love them every chance you get.
Support others, but remember that it’s also important to support yourself.
I’m also totally down with there being no prize for the cleanest house. Mine is a DUMP these days.

I love all of yours. Except for the bath one; I’ve never been a fan of baths.

I have to agree with all of yours. Plus, sometimes it’s OK to put your needs first. In the end it will make you a better friend.

some that i have been saying on repeat all week:
~the people who matter will not care about the state of your house. they are coming to see you, not where you live.
~perfection is not possible, so give it your best shot.
i love all of yours, too.
thanks for these little reminders.

I have been catching up on reading blogs, and I love this! One of my current thoughts is that dreams are never too big!

Time with family – even if you’re just there, not saying anything – is crucial.
Waking up early on weekends means less rushed, less frantic productivity.
The real friends are the ones that let you freak out over the little things as much as the big things.
Blog friends rule.

Love this post! I’m with Erin on “Tell people you love them every chance you get”. I’m also a fan of “life is 10% what happens to you, and 90% how you choose to react to it”
PS. I’ll agree with the bath one but only if I can have candles and music and wine and maybe a magazine to read in it too – I tend to get bored in the bath

“Living anyone else’s dreams or expectations is unnecessary.” And unhealthy, I love this one!
Waking up early gives me way more time to do the things I want to do, including nap.
There is no use in having a great body if you’re so afraid of it you can’t enjoy baking or foods fried in butter. I would rather have some extra weight and be happy.

Thank you for posting these. I am currently going through a really tough breakup and I really needed to read all of this today. I sadly am so f-ed up that I don’t even have a mantra these days, so I’m totally stealing yours
thanks.

Hot baths ARE magic! Especially with a glass of wine!
