This could very well be the most difficult post of all for me.
Just ONE blog? There have been a million new blogs in my life this year, mostly because I just got more involved in blogging this year. This site is such a HUGE part of my life now that it’s hard to believe it’s been around since only March 2009.
This year I have found adorable ladies who make me smile, people who make me laugh like no other, bloggers who inspire me to live the best life I can, and to write. Best of all, I’ve made real, true, dear friends. My blog friends have just become my friends, period. They are the people who have prayed for my dad, encouraged me on my dark days and laughed along with me.
Still, when I think about the blog I would recommend everyone read, there is one blog that comes to mind (besides mine, obvs!). And that, my friends, is the adorable, lovely, friendly Kyla Roma.
Let’s get the obvious out of the way: Kyla is a great writer. Her posts are compelling, well-written, and thoughtful. I never leave her site without a new insight, a bit of inspiration or encouragement. She is talented and her posts are incredible.
In my opinion, the thing that separates Kyla from “other bloggers” has been the way she builds community. Her comments are kind, thought-out and consistent. She is inclusive and while she’s been to Vegas and been a 20SB featured blogger and is basically a rock star, she never makes anyone feel less than welcome in her world, or like they aren’t part of a clique or group.
I knew Kyla was different when over the summer, she posted some photos that included her day planner; I inquired about it, and she sent me great information, and even offered to Skype with me to SHOW ME the planner. Besides being a girl who needs her planner info, I so appreciated her efforts to respond thoroughly, completely and be thoughtful in doing so. When I redesigned my site, Kyla helped play with some coding issues to help redirect my feed, something I’d NEVER have known what to do with, ever. To go beyond simply alerting me, and going in and playing with it was so kind and thoughtful. I’ve seen her comments on other blogs and she never fails to be positive and encouraging to them as they write.
Whenever I think about the sort of direction I want my site to grow in, I consider Kyla. Kyla’s thoughtfulness, inclusiveness and community-mindedness make her, hands down, my blog role model and blog find of the year.

I second that! As many blogs as I’ve discovered this year, Kyla’s is definitely one of my absolute favorites. She’s genuine, thoughtful and sweet, and on top that, a fabulous writer. (All things you’ve already said here, so I’ll stop now…)
Thanks for sharing!

I’m honored that you lumped me into a group of inspirational bloggers with Hannah Just Breathe and Doniree. Heart flutters, cheeks flush.
And I completely agree that Kyla is one of the most down-to-earth, beautiful bloggers I have come across in these parts. I don’t blame you for giving her a little extra love.

What a sweet post! Even though you’ve only been blogging nine months, isn’t it hard to remember life before the Internet?

Um, I don’t know where in my life I’d be without Kyla. I declare her my blog soul sister, someone I’d readily adopt into my family if I could and above all that a genuine, wonderful soul.
Thanks for linking to all the great reads too; I read many of them but a few are new to me!
