Friday Best…

I feel like I say this every week, but man, I’m glad that it’s Friday. SO GLAD. The first week back to work after break is always a little brutal, and this week was no exception. I only have eight more weeks of teaching until summer, and let me tell you, I’m already dreaming about it: not setting an alarm, being warm all the time,

Current Motivations

Somehow, I’ve re-found my fitness motivation. It feels good to say I’ve been working out, to be (mostly) off sugar and such, and to just feel better. I’ve been going to the gym or doing my Couch to 5K workout everyday, with a morning cardio session thrown in there as well, and between that and diet changes, I’m seeing a lot of results and generally just feeling really

Friday Best…

Happy Friday, guys! I’ve been enjoying the end of my spring break and simultaneously being super bummed that Paris and NYC are over. I am already starting to dream about where to go next, and how to finagle a stopover in Paris. Next week, I’ll be sharing more pics and my official “what to do in Paris” list. Get excited.

On to the

Bringing Vacation Home…

I definitely have a case of the post-vacation blues. After planning my trip to New York and Paris for so long, it’s over, and I am so sad. The older I get, the more aware I am of my own tendencies, and I anticipated feeling this way. During my trip, when I found myself enjoying something, I would stop and “check in” about what exactly

I Made This: Polka Dot Tablecloth

A friend of mine recently gave me the most adorable polka dotted notebook, and upon giving it to me, she said, “It just reminded me of you, since polka dots are your thing.” I was kind of…confused. Until I looked at my blog’s background, my favorite scarf and my newest favorite shirt.

Polka dots as my “thing?” I’ll allow it.

Ever since I saw

Souvenirs

I’m returning with a few things from this trip: a scarf, a bag, a placemat-turned-poster from the cafe where Amelie worked, some macarons for my family, a notebook from Shakespeare and Company.

I’m returning with a ridiculous number of photos chronicling all the places I’ve been in the past 10 days, proof that I finally saw things I’ve been dreaming of since I was

Paris Sneak Preview

Bonjour!

I am still away in Paris, but I thought I’d do a quick sneak preview of what has undoubtedly been the best experience of the trip so far: the Eiffel Tower.

My first peek:

I got super excited when I spotted the tip of it…

Just before sundown…

I Made This: Swedish Visiting Cake

Recently, my friend Elizabeth invited me over for dinner. One of my favorite things about Elizabeth is that she has never once shown up to my house without a cake in her hand, and this time, I decided to return the favor. We were having a summer-ish menu because it was 75 glorious degrees outside, and I wanted a light cake that sort of went
