Two good things…

I don’t know about the rest of you Northern Californians, but seriously, if it doesn’t stop raining soon, I AM GOING TO OFF MYSELF.  I know, I know—the rest of you are scoffing at me but listen: I PAY RIDICULOUS COST-OF-LIVING PRICES FOR ONE REASON: CLIMATE.  And that means sunny days in January.

Ahem.  So, I’m trying to brighten my afternoon with two things:

  • First, if you’re so inclined, my weigh-in post is up at Skinny Titch.  It definitely involves a big SQUEEEE!
  • Secondly, you may have noticed a new button on my side bar:

the-blathering

THE BLATHERING 2010!!! Sure, it may not be happening ’til NOVEMBER, but we like to plan ahead around these parts.  If you’ve ever considered going to an Internet meet-up of fabulous people, I cannot suggest the Blathering enough—I invited myself to the party last year, and holy cow, I’m glad I did.  Some of the women I met there have become my close friends, and it was certainly an unforgettable weekend.

So, if you want to meet some ladies who are kind, welcoming, funny and will dance in a gay bar with zero qualms, THIS IS YOUR WEEKEND.

Plus, I’ll be there.  Seems like a no-brainer, yes?

  • I am so over the rain too!!!!! :( Grrrrrrrr. It’s been raining awfully here in SoCal, too, and I’m just over it. Blah. Hmmm I wonder if The Blathering is something I’d be able to do budget wise? I’ll have to look into. I was wanting to do Coachella this year too buuuut the following weekend is my best friends bachelorette weekend and I just don’t think I can afford both! But mayyyybe…I might try to pinch it! Lol. :)

  • Ugh, the rain, oh the rain. And the ANTS that come in from the rain. I just returned after being gone a few hours and there were quite literally HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of ants streaming in from the front door to our bedroom. It was truly disgusting. I might have cried. And wretched a bit inside.

  • OMG you would absolutely die up in Seattle during these months. Not only is there tons of rain (shocker, I know!) but our housing prices are insane.

Come visit us in the summer though, it’s gorgeous. :-)

  • This rain is killing me! I think I may have seasonal affective disorder because this gloominess is really affecting my mood. Fingers crossed that these storms end soon!

  • I’m thinking about attending The Blathering, only because you seemed to have so much fun when you went. Plus, I have months to plan and prepare for it! Haha.

  • YES! BLATHERING AGAIN!

I’m so freaking excited. Have you started scouting gay bars yet?

  • I’m kind of upset that all the bloggers I read regularly live in the states.
Partly because I toured there in 2008, and didn’t know any of you back then when I could have stalked you. And partly because it makes me jealous that there are no meet-ups in my area…

  • Two things:

    1. The rain is AWESOME! Appreciate it. Nature rocks. Heat sucks.
    2. Were there any men at the Blathering? It’s so odd to me that I still struggle to find really good male bloggers out there. There don’t seem to be many. I know I’ve talked to you about this before but I’d still love to find male bloggers with the dedication and commitment as some of the people from the Blathering.

  • Oh, I so feel you on the rain! When I lived in NorCal, I dreaded the rain during December and January. Of course, now that I live in Boston, I realize how good I had it.

  • Eeeee! I am too poor to go anywhere which makes me super sad BUT Chicago is totally within driving distance and one would hope that by November I would have been able to set some cash moneys aside to exclusively blow on a little roadtrip with a fair amount of splurging. Squee! I must go to this. You will have to send me more details as the time arrives!
