The good…
- We are settled into the new place and man, it’s adorable! I posted a few sneak peeks on Flickr, but I’ll have some better photos soon, mostly because Leslie is coming over and she’s an amazing photographer. Also a decorator, and she was insanely helpful during this process! I promise to do a little guided tour soon!
- I was blown away by how much help and support we got while moving. Helping someone move is admittedly not the most fun thing, but we had friends to help us paint, friends and family to help us move and there were many times during moving day when I’d pause, see people bringing things in and out and feel so blessed that people love us enough to help us with such an arduous task.
- I am loving being able to sleep in, do what I want and have time to see friends. Summer is amazing.
The bad…
- Andrea came to Sacramento to visit me and then SHE LEFT. The visit was amazing, obviously, but I just get the aggressive sads when I realize how much I miss having my favorite people around. I just want the internet to live near me.
- I am still BUSY! Between job applications, interviews, freelance work and other commitments, I still feel a little stressy when really, I shouldn’t have to during SUMMER. I know I will get it all done eventually, but my word, it’s odd to have so much to do when I’m technically off work! Much of it is fun, but I am looking forward to a few things settling down so I can just relax. I haven’t even gone in my apartment’s pool yet.
- I still haven’t found a job. I’m interviewing some next week and have one opportunity I’m insanely excited about but it’s not for sure yet. I’ve definitely felt your job “mojo” and love and I would love it to keep comin’!
- I’m about to go to IKEA for the second time in a week. Wish me good luck.
The Ugly
- IT’S SO HOT. So, so, so hot.

Two things: 1. Being that you’re so close, we need to get together SOON. Meet up FTW. 2. I am SURE you’re going to get a job, wanna know how I know? Cause you’re amazing. Duh.

The idea of having to shop at IKEA, Wal-Mart and any other big box store all in one week makes me itchy … really itchy … probably splotchy, too.
Sending even more good karma your way for these interviews – you’re gonna knock ‘em over!

1. I love the fun green you used in your room with the color coordinated bookshelf. When I moved in with Garrett it blew his mind that I wanted to color coordinate ours, but HELLO, it looks so cute how can you not?
2. Ikea always seems to have a $50 cover charge when I go there. Best of luck.
3. OMG THE HEAT. I AM OVER IT. I really love Sacramento and all but jesus with the heat. I’m going to be an air conditioning recluse in August, I swear.

Yeah, it’s hot in Sacramento. MAYBE THAT’S WHY I HAD TO LEAVE.

You’ve done so much to your place already – wow! I love it, it’s so colourful and amazing. I can’t wait to have a place of our own that we can really decorate in our own way. So sick of white walls!

At least it’s not as HOT as last week? For now?
I’m glad that the move went so smoothly!

“I just want the internet to live near me.” is a sentiment that resounds with me, too. UGH! Isn’t it the worst?

It’s super hot here too, but it’s kinda a relief after all the rain we’ve been having. I’m finally getting (kinda) tan. Have a lovely weekend!

Congrats on the move! It’s such a good feeling when friends help you out with something like that – a truly terrible task. You feel a little guilty but ultimately just incredibly thankful. Hope you’re enjoying the new place – can’t wait to see photos!

Amy I love the new apartment! You’ve really settled in quickly!
My favorite things are the chalkboard door and the collection of frames with the scrap book paper!
As for the ugly, it’s been super duper hot here too! Luckily we’ve gotten some rain and it’s cooled things off a bit.

Leslie showed me the photos of your place and it looks so great! I am J. Looking forward to seeing it in person, soon.
