Right now…

I am still suffering from an ear infection and spent yesterday in kind of a blah state. I meant to get a post prepared for today but didn’t…and then I read Elise’s post “right now” and decided that’d be a good route to go today.

Right now…I feel a bit anxious and unsettled about what’s to come. I need some sort of change and I’m trying to figure out how to make teaching/freelancing/blogging/other stuff work and I’m kind of exhausted. I have a lot of good ideas and opportunities and I’m trying to balance all of those and subsequently going a little crazy.

Right now…I am grateful that my job is generous with sick time and thankful that I know when to say “I need a day off” so I can heal and rest. It’s such a gift to not have to stress out over missing two days.

Right now…I’m feeling a wee bit discouraged in regards to weight loss. I have been cleaning up my diet but sadly, healthy foods still have calories and I am realizing that food tracking and lots of workouts reallyyyy need to be part of my life.

Right now…I’m thankful for friendships. I’ve made several new friends recently and those friendships are blossoming. It’s fun to have new people around and to have other friendships get deeper.

Right now…I’m excited about lots of stuff to come. I ordered a spin bike from Groupon with some credits I had and I can’t wait to do cardio at home. I’m excited about some changes around this blog. I can’t wait for NYC and Paris. I feel like I’m waiting for a lot of good things to happen and change and I’m trying to just figure it out.

Right now…I’m hoping to find a good yoga place to call “home.” I really prefer Bikram, or at least Vinyasa, and I’ve tried a few studios as of late that just didn’t feel right. I’m hoping to return to one I liked and try one more before settling in for good and really committing to a place and practice.

Right now…I’m loving the Photo A Day challenge by Fat Mum Slim on Instagram and excited for February’s challenge. I’m excited to dive into starting my Project Life album with a friend this weekend. I’m excited to carve out more time to feel creative.

Right now…I’m realizing I need to set better boundaries with my time. I find myself choosing other things over creative time, exercise or nights off. Granted, the past few weeks have been consumed with a freelance project, but still, I’m looking forward to getting into a serious routine and sticking to it.

Right now…I’m ready for the weekend. And some time to clear my head and feel better.

How are you doing right now?

Glad you took a sick day to heal – it’s so important to do that and listen to our bodies when they need to rest.
Hope you’ll feel completely recovered over the weekend!

  • These are great Amy! Glad you were able to take the time to heal and rest.

Right now… unfortunately, I’m sad. Researching good gifts for home-care hospice patients for our dayhome provider. She is quite ill and they are basically waiting for the end.

  • Dude, it’s a total haul, but I have a yoga place in (my) town that I LOVE. It’s hot yoga (both a Bikram-style class and a vinyasa class.) Let me know if you ever want to try it out…

  • Every time I get a routine something happens where I have to change it up. I suppose the lesson for me in that is to not be too rigid and too attached. That’s like the lesson of my life! :-)

I hope you feel better soon.

As a long time reader who lives in NY (and someone who is totally not affiliated with this studio), please take a yoga class at Laughing Lotus when you are in NYC. It was the first studio I tried (10 years ago) and the environment they create is amazing. I laugh during every class! It’s also right by City Bakery, which has the best best best chocolate chip cookies and pretzel croissants ever. And yes, I’m aware that I’m recommending you eat a cookie right after yoga.
