Happy, or the best! news! ever!

I just accepted a job.

And not a job I feel “meh” about, a job with an organization I am so thrilled to be a part of.  A job where I know I’ll be challenged, where I’ll shine, where I will grow.  A job where I’ll get to work with people, write, create and be part of something I’m excited about.

A job with no more commute, with different challenges than teaching, a job that focuses on improving the city I am passionate about, and a job doing something I’ve only dreamed I could ever do.

To say I am thrilled is an understatement.  I have worked so hard this summer to figure out what I want my life to look like away from work, and now I feel like I have a position that matches what it is I’m going for.  Obviously, no longer being in the classroom will be a huge adjustment and change, but I think this is the perfect time to explore some other options and dreams.

I’d be remiss not to mention how lovely it’s been to have you guys, my readers and friends, behind me every step of the way.  From calls and texts and G-chats and Vegas time and snail mail and emails encouraging me to wait it out, reminding me that things always pan out and making me feel good when I felt terrible about myself and my situation, you guys have kept me going.  Thank you so much for your love and support.

Here’s to new adventures!
