Get Listed: Advice To Myself

The lovely Michelle Woo wrote a great post about Advice To Her Right Now Self, and quite frankly, I thought it was brilliant. Like Michelle, I’ve seen tons of “letters to younger selves” or “advice to future me” but that doesn’t do Current Amy much good, now does it?

So, for today’s list, I thought I’d offer up some pieces of advice that I should definitely take right now:

  • You’re a better person when your house is clean. Pick it up everyday. You’ll be happier, swearsies.
  • Don’t rush big decisions. You’ve got time.
  • Write in your journal more. It’s therapeutic for you, really.
  • If you ever think about leaving education again, remember this exact time in your life and the sheer joy you feel in going back.
  • Go to the gym. DON’T GIVE ME THAT. Just go. You’ve never once regretted it.
  • Keep asking for help. You’ve got some pretty amazing friends and family — you don’t have to do it alone.
  • Three drinks really is enough. No, really. Every time. Just stop there.
  • Making soup on the weekends makes for the Best Week Ever. Keep that up. And the oatmeal, too.
  • Get back on your yoga mat. It’s better for everyone in your life, but most especially for you.
  • Putting away your laundry makes your mornings a lot better. Just do it. Every day.
  • Keep speaking up for yourself. It’s scary, sure, but the results mean you’re happier and not resentful.
  • Stop talking about Paris, reading about Paris and thinking about Paris. Save for Paris and make it happen in 2011.
  • Say no more. Stay home more. Be alone more.
  • Stop getting the Jealousies: create a life you’d be jealous of.

What advice do you need to give yourself?
