Friday Best…

From the tree outside my house…

Hi there, friends! Happy Friday! Also, happy March. I mean, where did February go? I hear all the time that the years go more quickly when you get older, and I’m going to be honest: that idea freaks me out. I feel like my life already is just kind of flying, and wow. Faster? I just don’t know about that.

How was your week? Mine was nice, actually. Work is a little stressy, as is the end of every term. But hey, soon I’ll be in New York and Paris, and there are few things that make me upset that aren’t rectified immediately by that happy thought.

Anyways, on to the links of the week. Here we goooooooo!:

  • A few people mentioned to me that I should listen to the Joy The Baker podcast because it is awesome. And holy cow, they were correct and I am maybe too obsessed for my own good. SORRY I’M NOT SORRY. Get it on iTunes or listen here.
  • The co-host of the Joy The Baker podcast is Tracy of Shutterbean, and I am officially late to the Shutterbean party, but hi, please begin reading your new favorite blog, SHUTTERBEAN. Holy wow.
  • Last Joy The Baker link (this is getting creeptastic) but I want to make these Coffee Bacon Sandwiches. Also I want her cookbook. OKAY, DONE NOW. SORRY.
  • It’s not about your to-do list.
  • I was and AM obsessed with Oprah’s Life Class, and if you missed it, here are 20 Micro-Lessons from the show.
  • I have been reluctant to fully dive into the washi tape obsession because I just know I won’t be able to stop, but this tape paradise is kind of what my dreams are made of.
  • How freaking cute slash awesome is this Wall O Goals from my girl Sarah Von Bargen?
  • Two great posts from Crazy Sexy Life this week: Maintaining Boundaries and Be Willing To Suck At It — both are worth the read, seriously.
  • My love of soup has been well-documented, and I plan on giving this awesome cauliflower recipe from For Me For You a go.
  • Drea, one of my BFF’s, wrote this post about living alone, based on that crazyface article in the New York Times that said everyone who lives alone has no social skills. Look, I lived alone for over two years, and while I LOVE living with Andrew, I also LOVED LOVED LOVED living alone, and truly believe it is one of the best things you should do. If you had to do mandatory things to be an Actual Adult, to me, living alone for a year is one of them.

What are you doing this weekend? I’m seeing a friend for coffee, hanging out with my favorite “other” family, meeting my friend Melissa for brunch and having a family lunch with my parents, brother/sister-in-law, grandparents and cousin. So, pretty much the best weekend ever.

I hope you have an amazing weekend! See you Monday!

  • Joy the Baker’s Podcast is amazing! I feel like it’s talking to old friends…minus the fact that I can’t contribute, but I do laugh out loud! I just listened to the one where Joy was saying she hopes 20 people come to her book signing. Just saw the some pictures on her blog and it was much more than 20 :) I’m glad you found that little corner of iTunes as well!!!

P.S. I love your Friday Best posts. It gives me some good weekend reading

  • I freaking loved living alone, & as much as I love Nate, I still cherish those months when he’s deployed because LIVING ALONE IS GREAT. I sort even care if that means the NYT questions my social skills.

  • I’m pretty excited to be featured in this post with my best new girl crush, Joy the Baker. This warms my little heart.
