A little tour…

I promised a proper tour of my apartment, and Leslie was over on Friday and took some pictures that I thought I’d share.  Her photos are always amazing, and you should know that much of my decor was recommended and/or decided by her.  I seriously don’t know what people do without a friend like Leslie.

Okay, on to the tour!  When you walk into my house, this is the first thing you’ll see:

Yes, the walls really are that green!  The color is Retro Avocado.  Curtains are all from IKEA.  The big painting in the back is from Target years ago.  The enormous sectional couch belonged to Andrew’s family and despite it’s large size, it’s ridiculously comfortable and awesome.

We stacked some of my books, added some tea lights from Crate and Barrel and one of my favorite things: my turquoise typewriter, a gift from a dear friend.  Oh, and my glasses, which I ordered in part because the style was called “Crimson Tiger.”

To the right of our living room is the eating nook.  I scored that table and chairs off of Craigslist and added some red paint.  Leslie and I found some frames at Goodwill and used my own frames to create that cluster on the wall.

Beyond the eating area, there’s a small hallway that leads to the other rooms.

Andrew selected a map of the world shower curtain, and I added the round bath mat:

Next to our bathroom is our bedroom!

I’m in love with the sunny yellow color.  The painting above the dresser is by Leslie.

Leslie and I made a faux Roman shade to put above the sink.  I love the way it lightens up the very teal room.

This baby stove may be the only thing I don’t adore about this apartment—cooking is definitely a challenge!

Of course, that is balanced by the fact that I have a place to show off my handwriting in my kitchen with my chalkboard, used to write out my meals planned for the week.

So, that’s my little apartment!  Yes, we do have an office, but…let’s just say the other person who lives here isn’t quite done getting it ready yet.

Thanks for stopping in!
